My mum was the one who snapped this photo for us. This is why she does not make an appearance in the picture.
Whenever I look at this photo, I remind myself how lucky I am to have a happy family. =)
Look how tightly I clung on to my dad's neck when I was a kid!
I guess saying "I love you" or hugging my parents tight have never been awkward when I was a kid.
If you ask me to say "I love you" to my parents now, I would have write it down on a piece of paper and leave the note on the refrigerator door!
I find that most of the Chinese feel embarrassed when they have to express their love or gratitude to their parents openly. I don't know about you but most of my friends do feel the same thing.
Why is saying "I love you" to one's lover is an easier task than saying it to one's parents?
I bet my mum would jump in a fright if I hug her all of a sudden.
She might be wondering whether I've lost my mind? Lol.
How nice if we can learn from the Western in this aspect and start to show our affection to parents openly!
